About Arnaudville

Nestled at the junction of Bayou's Teche and Fuselier, lies the charming town of Arnaudville with a population of about 1608.  It was incorporated into a village in 1870, and into a town in 1957.  the founder was Jacques Arnaud, whose descendants still reside here.  Originally called "La Jonction" Arnaudville lies in southwest Louisiana, the heart of cajun country.  It sits in two civil parishes, St. Landry and St. martin.  Many roads lead into town.  There are eight of themin all, many with unusual (often mispronounced) names such as Coteau Rodaire Rd., Bayou Fuselier Rd., Bushville Hwy., Point Claire Rd. , Oscar Rivette Rd., and Highways 93, 315, and 31.

Arnaudville has a governing body consisting of a Mayor and five alderman who meet monthly.  The town has its own police department consisting of an elected chief of polive and four paid police officers who patrol around the clock.  The services of our two parish sheriff's deparments are also at our service.
